With 30 years of hands-on experience in the optometric industry, I've had the opportunity to see firsthand what makes a practice successful—and where even the strongest practices can benefit from a fresh perspective.

My career began in the optical laboratory, where I developed a strong foundation in lens fabrication, quality control, and laboratory operations. From there, I became an optician, gaining valuable experience in patient care, optical sales, and the everyday challenges of running a successful optical department.

My journey eventually led me into practice management, overseeing multi-location optometric clinics and gaining extensive experience in operational efficiency, staff development, financial processes, and practice performance.

Why I Created Pulsar

Throughout my career, I've learned that successful practices are built on more than efficient systems and strong financial performance. They're built on people.

I believe some of the most valuable insights come from the individuals working within a practice every day. Taking the time to listen, understand their challenges, and recognize their strengths is essential to creating meaningful improvements.

That belief became the foundation for Pulsar Optometric Management.

I created Pulsar to bring a different approach to optometric consulting—one rooted in collaboration, practical experience, and a genuine desire to help practices operate at their best.

My expertise includes operational assessments, workflow optimization, optical department performance, inventory management, laboratory costs, pricing strategies, and vision insurance processes. I've also helped independent practices prepare operationally for mergers with ophthalmology practices.

Rather than simply identifying what's wrong, my focus is on understanding what's working, uncovering opportunities for improvement, and developing realistic solutions that make sense for each individual practice.

Whether I'm providing an objective operational assessment, working alongside staff to implement improvements, or bringing clarity to outstanding vision insurance claims, my goal remains the same: help practices strengthen their operations while supporting the people who make them successful.
